APRIL 28
Hey everyone, what a wild week to be a part of the internet. Let’s just go ahead and talk about gaming, because the rest of it is confusing.

🟣 Streaming vs. Streaming?
Twitch. Really don’t know if it’s because I’m getting older, or Youtube is gaining space, or what the fuck… but I’m consuming waaaaay less streams lately.
If I have to find a reason, I would say it’s because of the other streaming platforms. Netflix, HBO, and the rest of the gang. There are too many good shows out there, constantly being released which are making me put Twitch way down in the order of importance for my screen consumption. It feels like betraying gaming, but not really, I still love it… it’s just… I’m missing something. I won’t negotiate live events like LoL playoffs, CS:GO Major finals, but the rest of it, I’m not there.
Twitch is discussing new changes to their platform:
The focus goes to modify the details around streamers, but not a lot towards the actual viewers. Maybe I’m just being delusional here, but a few years ago Twitch felt like pure innovation and now it's dull, and it looks like MTV has a better chance at making a comeback than Twitch expanding their scope.

🎨 Creators Create
CS:GO, Dota, Fortnite and others did this before. The NFT space is heavily leaning on the same strategy, and now we start to see more companies trusting creators.
We are talking about building an environment (game, community, virtual space) in which you give assets to the community to create on top of your creations. The result? Growing a collaborative, creative and smart community where they not only give you engagement but also loyalty and evolving standards.
EA is now trying it out. Who’s next?
🏎️ Battle Royale, Still a Thing
This time, Rocket League.
🇫🇷 Macron was Born a Gamer
The boi Emmanuel Macron was vocal about hosting TI, CS:GO Majors and League of Legends Worlds in France. Interesting.
Hummm… let me re-calculate, France barely ever hosted gaming stuff besides Games’ Week, re-elections against Le Pen are coming soon, and a young voting audience is looking tastier than ever. Pretty standard political move, nothing wrong with that honestly.

🌕 I’ll Give you That One
Out of all the cringe shit Meta is doing lately, I thought this one was cool. A partnership with the Smithsonian to do VR moonwalks. But again, nothing to do with gaming. As soon as some element of gaming comes from Meta, the cringe begins.
