βπ COMPLEXLAND
ComplexCon is a great music and fashion festival. Due to the virus, they replaced the event with a virtual experience: ComplexLand. So you pretty much login in for free, create a dope avatar and walk around an open world full of experiences and stations like Adidas, Versace, BAPE and more, to buy their limited edition products. Remember the boys from the Hypegeek podcast? They also own Higround, a brand that drops hype gaming products and one of them was part of ComplexLand. This is a gaming startup I'm very excited about at the moment, these guys are on the real side of things. I've been telling you since January, trust me and don't sleep on them.
π Fashion's New Ways
Just a lil' reminder that you can still try out the Balenciaga game.
β‘οΈ Organizing Talent
Every kid wants to be part of FaZe Clan. The minute you're a member of this team, your monetary opportunities go to the fucking roof. It's a double edge sword though because gaming and content talent comes extremely young now, and most kids are not prepared for a professional relationship with an org like this. FaZe announced a new academy system: once the talent is selected, they need to go through a bootcamp to see if the match works.
π§ Headset-Fever
Apple ain't the only ones jumping into this train. Scuf wants a wagon too.
βπΏ Much Needed Support-ish
Facebook made a $200M commitment towards black-owned businesses earlier this year. $10M out of that went to the Black Gaming Creator Program. Ya love to see it. Not very happy about the way they did it though: average landing page and a small quote from one of their streamers. When the creative input isn't there it immediately feels like an empty stunt rather than an empathetic initiative.
π Esports Updates
π€¨ L of the Week
CSGO, Valve and CSPPA. I don't think there is a day that goes without drama in Counter Strike. They whole scene is rotten. Outside of the latest drama, in a few words: the game is incredibly popular but the esports scene is full of issues and people not helping each other to thrive; and Valve? Nowhere to be seen. It's embarrassing really.
π Rankings
You would think November comes cold but PS5, PS4 and PSVR game downloads made the heat real. Also, let's sneak in Steam's top ten games of the week by revenue just because:
π Podcast of the Week
